FREEBIE ALERT!! watch free movies here!

Filed under: Film, Free Stuff, Online Finds! — cutieissa24 at 8:20 am on Thursday, October 29, 2009

Yep, yep! You read it right! Found another great website that allows you to Watch Free Movies online! I tell you, the saying “There’s no such thing as a free lunch..” doesn’t apply to the world wide web. If you know where to look, you’ll find freebies for just about anything online. YEAH, I LOVE THE INTERNET! I truly, truly do! =) Anyway, the website that allows me to watch free full movies (and TV shows as well) is LetMeWatchThis.com — a relatively new site but chock full of goodies! Currently they have Movies, TV Shows, Music, and my favorite: Playlists!

Playlists is a user-generated list of items that belong to one category. For example, one user made a Stephen King playlist that itemized the movies and shows that were adapted from the Master of Horror’s awesome novels. And yes, I already downloaded all the items in that Playlist! What can I say? I adore Stephen King more than words! =) LetMeWatchThis.com also has a Forum where users can talk with each other. They also have a Requests category where you can (what else?) write in your movie or show request. Over-all the website is good, the videos play quite nicely, and they have an up to date database of shows. Best of all, it’s for FREE!! =)

finally, a PDF search engine!!

Filed under: Books, Online Finds! — cutieissa24 at 2:19 am on Thursday, October 29, 2009

I’m a certified bookworm — I read anything and everything I can lay my hands on. When the Internet came into vogue, I plunged head on to reading ebooks and other stuff in PDF form. PDF, of course, is the popular file type from Adobe. My only problem in sourcing PDF books was that it was so hard to search for it in the Internet. And this is where Rapid4Me.com’s PDF Search enters.. This is a specialized search engine where all the files they index are in PDF format. Books, textbooks, documents, manuals, guides are all here, and the guys behind this search engine regularly update the PDF database so you’re sure to have more and more PDF files to download. So what are you waiting for? Go try it!

Chocolate

I’m not kidding, it’s really Chocolate Day today! =) You can check out Discovery’s collection of chocolate articles and videos to celebrate this yummy day HERE. I tell you, the articles are really educational. For one, did you know that chocolate goes a long, long, long way back? It has been around for more than two millennia, originating in Central America; and reached the West in the 16th century following the arrival of Spanish explorers. Once the first chocolate factory was setup, the heavenly treat never looked back. It’s the most famous food in the world and I’m pretty sure Sales Jobs involving chocolate never suffered during the economic recession ;-)

our baby’s first ultrasound!

Filed under: Baby Stuff, Pregnancy — cutieissa24 at 4:18 pm on Sunday, October 25, 2009

Theoretically we knew we were pregnant for about 8 weeks or so.. But it still blew our minds when we heard our baby’s heartbeat yesterday! We are, 100% without a doubt, pregnant beyond belief! LOL! ^_^ Labsie (my hubby) was so exhilarated by the whole experience that he was smiling ear to ear the whole day. I was happy too, knowing our baby is safe and sound, looking healthy and normal as my OB can gather from the ultrasound. Keep growing sweet baby of ours.. See you in 7 months! And then it will be eyebags (gotta stockpile on eye cream already!)  and haggard-looking us for the next 2 years, tsk! :p

looking for a new investment opportunity?

Then try to invest in precious metals like gold, silver, platinum, etc! Or you can try collecting rare coins and selling them for profit. Just last night, CNN featured a company that allows you to buy gold coins and ingots that you can sell later for profit when gold prices soar some more. Easy investment huh? Just buy.. and sell! =) I read up about this type of investment and found out about Monaco Rare Coin, a company that is part of the Monex family of companies which have been in precious metals investing for nearly 40 years.

Monaco Rare Coin has the finest rare coins available. They have an experienced and knowledgeable cadre of professionals ready and willing to help in your investment needs. Whether you need a rare gold or rare silver coin, you can be sure they have it and with the highest quality. The best part about Monaco Rare Coin? They have a FREE trial subscription to “The Rare Coin Insider” for valuable insights into the rare coin market. Yep, free! NICE!

wednesday meme!

This weeks question is: You’ve been given a personal assistant for one day. What do you want them to do for you?

It’s been a long time since I joined a meme so I thought why not do one today? Anyway, here’s my answers to the question above:
- Organize all our pictures and videos in chronological order and burn them to DVDs.
- Organize all my books, mags and stuff.
- Trim our dog’s patchy ear fur and bathe all the others.
- Do our laundry.
- Cook me a gourmet meal!!!
- Clean, organize and arrange office supplies in our PC room.
- Create a to-do list of all the things I need to do before our baby arrives on March.

blinded by blinds! ;-)

Filed under: House and Home — cutieissa24 at 6:17 am on Thursday, October 22, 2009

What was that again?? LOL! Just trying to be creative with my title guys — my creative juices are running amok! Planning our mini-nursery has unleashed the interior designer / artist in me =) Our bedroom has 4 large windows and they occupy one whole wall! So just imagine how much sunlight (and heat) we get every morning — yep, a lot! And that wouldn’t do once our baby arrives. The solution? Window blinds to keep the sun out! And despite being “blinded” by the numerous types of blinds, I settled on the classic and popular venetian blinds. I’m currently loving this wooden cream ones in Wooden-Blinds-Direct.co.uk and the best part is, the blinds are on sale! Perfect!

shucks, I gotta drop my fave croissants!

Filed under: Health Matters, Pregnancy — cutieissa24 at 3:07 am on Thursday, October 22, 2009

Croissants = lotsa butter = high in fat — and according to a study in the latest issue of journal Hepatology, a diet high in fat while you’re pregnant will cause a liver disease in your child later in his/her life =( And so I must give up my favorite buttery pastries, I don’t want our child to be sick because of my gluttony for croissants and pastries =( Anyway, here’s a summary of what the study discovered:

Researchers at the University of Southampton found that a high fat diet during a woman’s pregnancy makes her offspring more likely to develop a severe form of fatty liver disease when they reach adulthood. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a condition associated with obesity and caused by the build up of fat in the liver. Professor Christopher Byrne explained: “This research shows that too much saturated fat in a mother’s diet can affect the developing liver of a fetus, making it more susceptible to developing fatty liver disease later in life. An unhealthy saturated fat-enriched diet in the child and young adult compounds the problem further causing a severe form of the fatty liver disease later in adult life.”
