SEPIA SCENES #45

Filed under: Fotografia, Love and Dating — cutieissa24 at 12:43 pm on Thursday, August 27, 2009

[CSC_0438.JPG]

It’s my first time to join this photo meme (a late entry at that! LOL) and I sure had a great time viewing the other participants’ sepia photos. You too can join in the fun HERE. Have fun! =) This photo is, I think, the best from our Prenuptial Pictorial last October 2008. The doves were cooperating, we were kissing (or were going to, hehe) and the photographer had a great composition. Perfect! =) More details about this photo HERE. Anyway, I’m going offline now.. Have to look for new office furniture and storage stuff in real life. See you when I see you guys! Buh-bye!

looking for acne treatment?

Filed under: Health Matters — cutieissa24 at 10:42 am on Thursday, August 27, 2009

You’re not the only one! Fortunately, I don’t need one. Hehe! =) Anyway, it’s HEALTH MATTERS time again in my blog and today we’re gonna discuss some of the best acne treatments that we can use. Generally speaking successful treatments give little improvement within the first week or two; and then the acne decreases over approximately 3 months, after which the improvement starts to flatten out. Many treatments that promise big improvements within 2 weeks are likely to be largely disappointing. Exception of this is cortisone which can give very quick results.

In general, acne treatments are believed to work in at least 4 different ways [with many of the best treatments providing multiple simultaneous effects] - a.) normalising shedding into the pore to prevent blockage, b.) killing causative bacteria, c.) antinflammatory effects, and d.) hormonal manipulation. It is best that you consult a dermatologist on what is the best acne treatment you can use given your health history and previous drug use.

Tambisaan Island, Boracay

I can’t believe that our youngest sibling has reached the ripe old age of 25 already! LOL! The black sheep of our family and the “favorite” of our parents has certainly come a long way. He graduated early this year, got a new gf, and most importantly: got a job. W00t! Our baby has become quite responsible already.. =) Anyway, I’m off to wrap this tuxedo shirt for his birthday. Hope he likes it! To my lil bro, may the Lord bless and guide you always!

amazing bear climbs ladder to escape!

Image: Bear in Skate Park

First fun news I heard today! =) Here’s how it went down: a bear wandered into a skateboard park during the night in the Colorado resort town of Snowmass. Since the park had steep concrete sides (as you can see above; photo by AP), the bear wasn’t able to go up and was trapped. The next morning, workers from the Parks and Recreation Department lowered a long ladder. The bear eventually climbed out and wandered away. NEAT huh?? =) Anyway I’m off to search for golf packages that my father would surely want to receive for Christmas! I already checked out Myrtle beach golf packages in South Carolina and it looked very promising. More details later!

If you love chandeliers and fancy lighting fixtures, you have to go and visit LightingShowplace.com. Believe it or not, but they have been in the business of making indoor and outdoor lighting since 1994! I especially love their line of Murray Feiss light fixtures. Aside from beautiful chandeliers, the brand also has wall sconces, pendant lighting, hanging lanterns, landscape lighting, and many more. Do drop by their online store. Who knows, they might have what you’re looking for!

KADAYAWAN SA DABAW 2009!

Filed under: Current Affairs, Travel — cutieissa24 at 9:17 am on Sunday, August 23, 2009

Today’s the last day of my beloved city’s most famous event — and hubby will be at the center of it! It’s coz he’s attending the uber-popular Floral Float parade as his work company has an entry float. Hope they win!! =) Anyway, this year’s Kadayawan theme is “Nahiusang Katawhan Nakigdait sa Kalibutan” (“One People in Communion with the Earth”). Here’s what’s it all about:

The life and culture of the indigenous peoples have always been linked to the land. Since time immemorial, Davao has been the homeland of the Indigenous Peoples and land has become the core of their existence. If their land is lost, so is their culture and traditions. Thus, there is a need to defend the indigenous peoples’ ancestral lands for them to continually live and practice their way of life- consulting the spirits, working with nature and sharing with others. This is the main reason of celebrating the Kadayawan sa Dabaw 2009.

If you haven’t heard of Kadayawan before, go Google this fantastic event! If I weren’t so scared of sun exposure, I’ll also be in the streets (and not researching about acne treatments, sigh!) — having fun with all the tourists, locals, and contestants =) USBAW DABAW!

need GPS tracking?

Filed under: Online Finds!, Web/Tech — cutieissa24 at 4:23 am on Friday, August 21, 2009

If you need to monitor and manage your business’ vehicles, assets, equipment, property and employees, then maybe you need one. And if you’re a parent whose child is quite undisciplined, you may need a GPS tracking device too. I know the second scenario sounds quite like you’re invading your child’s privacy, but hey, in these dangerous times we have to do all we can to protect our kids. Anyway if you do need GPS Tracking, try LiveViewGps.com — they have a wide range of GPS products that will suit your tracking requirements. Need LIVE Vehicle Fleet Tracking for your business? They have it and it will give you 5 or 10 second position updates of your commercial vehicles. Go visit their website, you’ll be surprised with all the stuff they have!
