who’s your fave American Idol 8 contestant?
Mine is Anoop Desai! =) He is a 22 year-old resident of Chapel Hill, North Carolina who auditioned for FOX’s American Idol in Kansas City and made it into season eight’s top thirteen as a wildcard entry. He nearly was eliminated during the Michael Jackson week but thankfully he wasn’t. Whew! Anoop Desai loves to sing R&B (Randy Jackson calls him Noop Dawg/Dogg!) and sang with the acapella student singing group Clef Hangers in college.
Anoop Desai is currently earning his Master’s degree in folklore at UNC Chapel Hill. He also earned his undergraduate degree, a bachelor’s degree in American Studies, from UNC-CH where he wrote an honors thesis entitled “Why Barbecue Matters in the South”.
