Buying and selling stocks used to involve the rich people and brokers only. But with the advent of internet, online trading of stocks became a reality. Now, everybody who has access to a computer and has some cash can reap the rewards of stock trading. So how does online trading works? According to HowStuffWorks.com:

When you buy and sell stocks online, you’re using an online broker that largely takes the place of a human broker. You still use real money, but instead of talking to someone about investments, you decide which stocks to buy and sell, and you request your trades yourself. Some online brokerages offer advice from live brokers and broker-assisted trades as part of their service.

Geek glasses are in..

..and it sucks! Two years ago, when I was a medical clerk / graduating med student, I started wearing the now so-called “geek glasses”. These are eyeglasses with thick dark frames (usually black) and squarish shape. People who saw me in it said I look like a nerd, a lola, that I was hiding my pretty eyes, etc. Of course, I didn’t care coz I was unique (everybody else was wearing the “rimless” eyeglasses) and I continued wearing them. But now, I’m kinda irked coz geek glasses has become a fashion statement. Everybody’s wearing it even celebrities and those with perfectly normal eyesight! And if there’s one thing I hate, it’s “following” trends! So I guess I have to say goodbye to my geeky days and wear another type of eyeglasses — which I’m sure will be another trend down the road. I’m THAT fashion forward! Hehe!
