oakley_watch Labsie has forever lusted after Oakley shades but I kept telling him, what’s the point? Shades are shades no matter the brand, and he’s bound to lose it or break it within 3 months. That’s thousands of pesos down the drain. Tsk! But now, I heard that Oakley are making watches! And pundits are saying it’s the hottest thing to hit the market in years! Oakley watches will definitely be on Labsie’s wish list this Christmas, and this time, I have no complaints about it. It’s gorgeous, it’s useful, and he won’t lose it for sure. Hey, my line just rhymed! LOL!

Christmas is once again at the corner and I’m making our gift list already. If ever we’ll have some money left over from the wedding, Labsie and I are planning to get the men in our family the best leather accessories we can afford =) And of course, we’re looking at Johnston and Murphy’s leather products. This company has spent the last 150 years making footwear, and now they are using their knowledge and skills to craft leather wallets, passport cases or computer brief bags. For sure there’s a right leather product our dads and brothers! =)

Now that Kadayawan is here, visitors are flocking once again to Davao. And unlike other prime cities in the Philippines, everything in our metropolitan city is affordable. Even seafoods are cheap! And if you’re looking for Davao cheap hotels, here’s a partial list:

1. Sychar Hotel (Bajada, near Victoria Plaza) - P700+ single, P900++ double with free breakfast

2. Roadway Inn (Bajada, in front Davao Light and Power Corp plant) - P900++ double with NO breakfast

3. C5 Dormitel (Roxas, near Ateneo de Davao University) - P650 single, P1000 double

I’ll add to this list as soon as I have more info. You can also search the internet for more info.

golf talk

My father is a golf nut. But I think he was into it at first because of his work. Apparently, golf is the “in” thing among executives, lol! Then my father began to appreciate the sport to the point he already loved it — so much in fact that Papa began teaching my two brothers the so-called gentleman’s sport. Every time we had a chance to go on vacation, we would go somewhere that has a golf course or even just a tee range. There, Papa taught my brothers the importance of golf swing and the need to concentrate. Unfortunately for him, my bros weren’t into golf as he is. I don’t know if Papa was disappointed about their lack of interest, but here’s my two cents: so much for male bonding, lol! In fairness, golf made it easy for me to buy gifts for Papa — golf bags, golf balls, anything golf makes him happy ^_^

the aftermath

I had a lengthy post about my first weekend of the medical board exam but the stupid "draft autosave" feature of Blogger somehow erased my 4 paragraphs of angst!! ARGGGGGHHHHHH!!! In a nutshell: Anatomy was the hardest followed by a 3-way tie between Legal Med (easiest for those who got a samplex where 90% of the board exam questions were taken, wahhh), Biochemistry and Pathology. Physiology was alright and Microbiology was the easiest. Over-all, I had a hard time with the first 6 subjects and I can’t assess if I’ll pass the boards or not. Naa na kay Lord tanan!!! ^_^ Next up are 6 more subjects this weekend. I’m praying I’ll have an easier time since we’ll be tested on clinical subjects which I dearly love (except for Pharmacology and Surgery - EENT). So guys, prayers pa ha! We really, really need it! Thanks..
